    1. Gotham Steel Pots and Pans 10 Piece Cookware Set with Nonstick Ceramic Coating

Gotham Steel Pots and Pans 10 Piece Cookware Set with Nonstick Ceramic Coating

A well-equipped set that’s perfect for people looking to replace most of their cookware or even as a starter kit, this cookware set has 10 pieces, including lids, and even some accessories.

With two frying pans, a steamer insert, and 3 pots in different sizes, this set may not look like much, but it has more than enough to cook just about anything and, thanks to the sturdiness of titanium, as long as you use these pans with care, they can stay with you for a generation.

Scratch-resistant, oven safe, and dishwasher safe, this set is a breeze to maintain, though we still recommend to wash by hand and use silicon utensils whenever possible, as it doesn’t hurt to help these already sturdy pans.

While it may look like it, this cookware set isn’t induction compatible, so if you’re looking for a cookware set for your induction, you’re going to have to look elsewhere. This cookware set is also one of the best cookware for glass top stoves.

A common complaint about this particular cookware set is the way the handles are built, which are reported as being too large and narrow.

If it’s at all possible, consider checking out this set with your own eyes, so you can decide whether the handles work for you or not.

    2. Gotham Steel Nonstick Copper Grill Pan with Ceramic Surface

Gotham Steel Grill Pan – 10.5” Square Aluminum Grill Pan with Nonstick Surface, Sear Ridges and Stainless Steel Handle, Dishwasher and Oven Safe

If what you’re looking for is a large cooking surface that gives you the opportunity to grill both indoors and outdoors then rejoice, because we’re positive you’re going to love this one.

With a cooking surface large enough to cook four burger patties at the same time, this grill pan not only offers you the advantages of ceramic and titanium, but it does it with grilling in mind, thanks to the grooves on the sides that catches grease and other liquids.

While the grooves sure come useful, it renders this pan useless for induction cooktops, though it can be safely used on outdoor grills if you ever find yourself needing some extra space.

This grill pan may have been created with grilling in mind but it can be used for roasting and frying as well.

A small downside to this grill pan is that it’s surprisingly shallow, perhaps to save you some storage space. This can be a problem if you’re planning on cooking with liquids, but it’ll hardly be an issue otherwise.

While this pan is supposedly dishwasher safe, we’ve found that because of its large size, washing it by hand is easier, as you won’t have to struggle with making it fit.

    3. Gotham Steel Tastic Bundle 7 Piece Cookware Set Titanium Ceramic Pan

Gotham Steel 1371 Tastic Bundle 7 Piece Cookware Set Titanium Ceramic Pan, Copper

With just the name, you can already imagine what’s in stores for you with this beautiful cookware set.

We’re using the phrase “cookware set” a bit loosely here, as this is truly more a bundle than anything else but trust us when we say you won’t be needing anything else.

This bundle includes a deep square pan plus all its accessories and two frying pans of different sizes.

While it may not sound like much, rest assured that this bundle will allow you to deep fry, roast, sauté, steam, bake, fry, broil, and more, all from the comfort of your kitchen.

Each piece in this set is oven safe up to 500 degrees and dishwasher safe, though some are too clunky and is easier to wash by hand.

Some of the pieces in this set are induction compatible but others aren’t, so make sure to check which ones work and which ones don’t if you have a glass cooktop.

The deep square pan is a bit shallower than expected but it still does everything as it should, thanks to the fact that the steamer fits perfectly inside.

    4. Gotham Steel Titanium Ceramic Deep Square Pan

Gotham Steel 1194 Cookware, 9.5", Graphite

If the deep square pan on the previous entry intrigued you, then keep reading because we’re about to talk about that one in particular.

The deep square pan is the crown jewel of the Gotham Steel brand, thanks to its versatility and ingenuity.

It can be used to roast, steam, bake, deep fry, fry, and more, as not only is it oven safe up to 500 degrees but the accessories allow you to do all kinds of things inside, making it the perfect option for those of you who enjoy experimenting with recipes.

While dishwasher safe, the size may make it complicated to wash in a machine so consider hand washing it whenever possible.

This deep square pan is induction compatible, though it’s also quite heavy, so you should be careful when using it on glass stovetops or gas stoves to avoid any cracks or accidents.

As we mentioned in the previous entry, this pan is shallower than it looks, but it still works wonders for steaming and even deep-frying, though the latter may present some difficulties if that’s what you’re purchasing this pan for.

As with all the other products, this large pan needs to be seasoned if you want to take advantage of its non-stick properties, though for steaming and deep frying that can easily be avoided.

    5. Gotham Steel 9.5 Inches Non-stick Titanium Frying Pan

Gotham Steel 9.5 Ultra Nonstick Ceramic Copper Coating by Titanium Frying Pan by Daniel Green, Brown

It’s easy to see why this is one of the most popular Gotham Steel pans out there, as well as one of the most advertised.

Large, straight to the point, and very non-stick, this is the kind of pan you want to get if you’re planning on trying Gotham Steel or if you’re looking for a serious non-stick pan for your kitchen.

Dishwasher safe, scratch resistant, oven safe up to 500 degrees, and very sturdy. This pan is perfect for people who enjoy cooking all day long.

Like similar non-stick pans, it needs to be seasoned every few uses to keep its non-stick properties intact but, trust us, is more than worth it, as this pan is one of the most non-stick you’ll encounter if you season regularly.

At 9.5 inches, there’s plenty of space to cook just about anything, though the flat surface may be a disappointment if you’re looking for something like a grill.

Despite its flat design, this pan isn’t induction compatible so you should keep that in mind.

If you’re using Gotham Steel pans for the first time, you’ll notice that this pan gets very hot very quickly, so there may be a bit of a learning curve to it. Be patient, though. Once you learn how to properly use this pan you won’t want to go back to your old ones.

    What Is Gotham Steel?

Gotham Steel pans are premium-quality cookware made with a combination of titanium and reinforced ceramic.

The use of these two materials gives Gotham Steel pans a sturdiness that’s rarely matched, as well as great looks and a reliable non-stick cooking surface that makes cooking and cleaning, a breeze.

    • Titanium: Known for its sturdiness and ease of use, titanium is a strong material that can be safely used in both gas and electric stoves. This material is kind of thick, which makes it very sturdy, but not as conductive as others.

    • Reinforced Ceramic: This type of ceramic is scratch-resistant, completely non-reactive (making it the perfect cooking surface) and non-stick, once properly seasoned. Unlike Teflon or similar brands, the non-stick properties of ceramic are natural, which means your food will be free of harmful chemicals, making it a great choice for the family.

Unlike Teflon or similar brands, the non-stick properties of ceramic are natural, which means your food will be free of harmful chemicals, making it a great choice for the family.

While the material isn’t the most conductive out there, it still does the work wonderfully, easily competing with similar cookware brands.

Is It Safe to Use Gotham Steel?

    Yes!

As we already mentioned, the use of reinforced ceramic as a cooking surface gives you all the benefits of non-stick cooking without any of the drawbacks, except perhaps the need to season your pans.

Safety-wise, the only concern you should have when using these pans is that they’re very heavy. This won’t be a problem for many, but if you have joint problems in the hands or you have a weak grip, it can be an issue, particularly when handling food.

However, if you don’t have any problems like that, we’ve found that cooking without harmful chemicals sure is helpful!

    Should You Buy Gotham Steel?

    Absolutely!

Thanks to their sturdiness and excellent performance, Gotham Steel pans make a fantastic investment for your kitchen, particularly if you enjoy cooking up a storm.

The only situation where Gotham Steel pans aren’t a good choice is if you have joint problems or anything that makes you incapable of comfortable handling the weight of these pans. Otherwise, you’ll love them!

If you’re thinking about purchasing a Gotham Steel pan but you’re not sure where to start, keep reading and check the 5 best Gotham Steel pan reviews out there for your convenience.

    Advantages of Gotham Steel

    • Sturdiness
While titanium isn’t the most conductive metal out there, it’s definitely sturdy, which means your pans will be able to take quite a beating, which considering the price tag in some of them is a good thing. Because of their sturdiness, you’ll be able to keep your pans for a long long time with minimal bumps or wrapping. That said, this only applies to the titanium exterior.
    • Non-Stick Properties
The use of ceramic as a cooking surface isn’t only aesthetic, though it sure looks great. Ceramic is a very popular material in the cooking world thanks to its non-reactive and non-stick properties, which makes it perfect for cooking just about anything with a minimal quantity of oils or added fats.
Ceramic, as many similar materials, needs to be seasoned before used, but the process is straightforward and, considering you’ll be able to cook without chemicals such as Teflon, well worth it.
    • Great to Look At
While some people may not put a lot of importance in appearance, others do. If you’re that kind of person, rest assured that Gotham Steel pans look as good as they sound and will make an excellent addition to your kitchen.

    Disadvantages of Gotham Steel

There are a few disadvantages to Gotham Steel pans, but there are there, so we thought we should mention them.

    • Weight
Titanium is a heavy metal, ceramic is a heavy material. Combining them gives the cookware great qualities but it also makes them quite heavy. This may not seem like a disadvantage to some, but it can be a problem for others, particularly people with weak grips or problems in their articulations. This can also be a problem for people with glass cooktops, as the extra weight may cause accidents if you’re not careful, so proceed to use it with care.
    • Ceramic Sturdiness
While titanium is a sturdy material, ceramic isn’t as resistant, even if Gotham Steel uses reinforced ceramic.
This means that you should always be careful when using the pans, as while the exterior may survive being dropped, the same can’t be said about the ceramic cooking surface.
    • Resistance
While every Gotham Steel you’ll find will advertise itself as oven safe and dishwasher safe, keep in mind that that’s not always the same.
While the pans themselves are oven safe, sometimes the lids aren’t, so be careful with that. As for the dishwasher safe qualities, you should know that ceramic needs to be washed with mild soap, warm water and a soft sponge to minimize any damage.
Washing your Gotham Steel pans in a dishwasher won’t immediately ruin them, but it can damage them in the long run so we suggest you wash them by hand whenever possible.

    1. Copper Chef XL Cookware Set

    Copper Chef XL Cookware Set

If cooking space is a big concern of yours, this cookware set is perfect for you!

It may only have two pieces (plus accessories) but they’re both large enough to feed medium to medium-large families, making it a great choice for family cookouts.

If the size isn’t enough to convince you, keep in mind that this set comes with the deep square pan, which is sort of a flagship item for Copper Chef.

The deep square pan can be used to fry, deep fry, bake, boil, broil, roast, steam and pretty much everything else, making it one of the most versatile items on this list. The fry pan is a little more modest, but it can still be a game-changer in your kitchen.

Both pieces are oven safe up to 800 degrees and induction compatible, which is something not many copper cookware sets can say.

It’s worth repeating that the lids aren’t made to withstand that kind of temperatures, so if you’re planning on using any of the pans in the oven, do so without the lids.

The non-stick cooking surface is as good as you’d expect, as long as it’s properly seasoned and used correctly.

The deep square frying pan comes with a steamer, a frying basket and a little cooking book that will show you exactly how to use it, though the latter is only digital.

    2. Copper Chef 9 Piece Round Set

Copper Chef Cookware 9-Pc. Round Pan Set, Aluminum and Steel with Ceramic Non-Stick Coating Cookware Set, Includes Lids, Frying and Roasting Pans Accessories, Pots and Pans Set

If what you’re looking for is a more traditional cookware set that boasts all the benefits of Copper Chef then look no further!

This cookware set is perfect for you.

Not only does this set comes with all the expected pans and lids, but it also includes accessories, such as a steamer insert and a frying basket that delivers results as good as the deep square pan but at a smaller scale.

All of the pieces in this set are induction ready and oven safe. The pots and pans can resist temperatures up to 700 degrees, though the same can’t be said about the lids so be careful when using them.

While the pans in this set are advertised as scratch resistant, they do scratch easily if you’re using metal utensils so try to use only silicone and wood if you can.

All the pieces in this set need to be properly seasoned before use, though the same can be said about most non-stick pans.

Dishwasher safe and very efficient, the only truly negative thing about this set we could find was that the pieces are a bit on the small size.

    3. Copper Chef Round Pan with Glass Lid

Copper Chef 10 Inch Round Frying Pan With Lid - Skillet with Ceramic Non Stick Coating. Perfect Cookware For Saute And Grill

If you’re curious about Copper Chef pans but aren’t committed enough to purchase an entire set, this 10” frying pan is perfect for you.

Compact and oven safe up to 850 degrees, this pan can be safely used to fry, sauté, braise and even bake!

Unlike other pans listed in this review, this particular pan isn’t induction friendly, as the bottom is a little curved. That said, the curve is barely noticeable when cooking and won’t actually represent a problem if used on other types of stoves.

The ceramic cooking surface is an excellent way of cooking without harmful chemicals and with as little oil as possible. However, it’s easy to scratch if you’re using metal utensils, so be careful with that.

This pan comes with a lid, though we advise you not to use it in the oven, as it isn’t as heat resistant as the pan itself.

Talking about the pan, we really liked the construction. Everything about it feels sturdy and well crafted, though the handles do get a little hot particularly if you’re using the oven, so be careful with that.

    4. Copper Chef Deep Square Pan

Copper Chef Cookware set 5, 5 Pieces

We mentioned before that the deep square pan is a flagship product of the Copper Chef brand and you’re about to find out why.

Equipped with a large frying basket, a steamer insert and a lid, this large pan can do just about anything and cook a wide variety of dishes, all while creating a minimal mess in the kitchen.

This baby can fry, roast, boil, bake, deep fry, broil, steam, sauté, braise, smoke and a lot more. You just need to be creative about it, though this pan comes with a cooking booklet that will show you all you can do.

As you can imagine, the pan is on the large side, which makes it a bit hard to store and wash, but it’s definitely a good option if you’re planning on cooking for more than one.

Oven safe up to 800 degrees, dishwasher safe and scratch resistant. This is a sturdy pan that looks and feels like it can take a beating, though we still suggest beingcareful with it. After all, it’s not exactly a cheap pan.

This pan is induction compatible and can be used in all kinds of cooktops. Of course, this means the base isn’t 100% copper, but the heat distribution is still pretty good and even, so it’s a good compromise.

    5. Copper Chef Square Frying Pan with Lid

Copper Chef 9.5 Inch Square Frying Pan With Lid - Skillet with Ceramic Non Stick Coating. Perfect Cookware For Saute And Grill

A good option for those of you looking to cook for a large number of people, this beautiful square pan can easily cook up to 4 burger patties at the same time with some space to spare!

Oven safe up to 800 degrees and deep enough to cook liquids without fear, this pan is more versatile than it looks and will allow you to cook a variety of meals.

This pan is induction compatible, which means the base isn’t made entirely out of copper. This is a problem, since hot spots have been reported, though this issue seems to disappear as long as you use this pan on medium to medium low heat.

The ceramic cooking surface is very non-stick and mostly scratch resistant, though it doesn’t handle metal utensils all that well so you should be careful with that.

As with similar models, the lid isn’t as oven safe as the pan, so make sure to skip using the lid if possible.

    What Is Copper Chef?

Copper Chef pans are premium-grade pans made by combining ceramic and copper, two of the most used materials in the cooking world.

    • Copper: This material is commonly regarded as the best in the cooking world thanks to its unparalleled heat conductivity, which allows it to react to temperature changes quickly and efficiently.

Combined, ceramic and copper complement each other by creating oven safe cookware that can cook all types of dishes with minimal effort. The Copper Chef is also one of the best cookware for gas stoves.

    Sounds good, uh?

Is It Safe To Use Copper Chef Pans?

    Very!

Using Copper Chef pans isn’t only safe in a general way (as they’re sturdy and well-built pans that won’t cause accidents in the kitchen) but it’s also safe in the sense that it’s good for you!

As we mentioned before, Copper Chef pans use ceramic as a cooking surface, which means that you’ll be using fewer oils and fats when cooking, which can help improve your health.

Not only that, but ceramic is also non-reactive, which means no unpleasant changes or chemical release in your food.

If that wasn’t enough, keep in mind that the non-stick properties of ceramic are 100% natural, meaning your food won’t be exposed to chemicals like Teflon when cooking.

So yes! It’s safe to use Copper Chef pans!

Should You Buy Copper Chef Pans?

While we’re tempted to say yes right away, the price tag does make us hesitate a little.

Copper Chef pans are quality and will change the way you experience cooking, there’s no doubt about that. However, they do require some care that most people won’t know about / won’t care to follow.

So while we absolutely recommend Copper Chef pans, we think these pans work better for people who take cooking seriously.

    Advantages of Copper Chef Pans

There are many advantages of Copper Chef pans, such as:

    • Conductivity
Because Copper Chef pans use copper as a base material, they get hot quite fast, saving you time and money when it comes to gas. It also allows you to cook more delicate recipes that may be ruined if you’re not fast when changing temperatures.
    • Non-Reactivity
Certain metals produce unwanted changes in your food, such as color or taste changes. Copper, for example, can’t be used with tomatoes, as it turns them acidic and unpalatable. While copper was used to creating these pans, ceramic is used as a cooking surface and ceramic presents no such problems. This gives you all the advantages of copper without any of the drawbacks!
    • Less Oil
By providing you with a naturally non-stick surface, Copper Chef pans can use less oil or fats when cooking, provided your pans are well seasoned. Seasoning does include oils, but the amount is minimal compared to using it daily.
    • Heat Resistance
Copper Chef pans are oven safe up to 700 degrees, making them the perfect option for people who enjoy using the oven to finish off their dishes. Few cookware can compare to this degree of heat tolerance, which ears Copper Chef extra points in our book.

    Disadvantages of Copper Chef Pans

The disadvantages of Copper Chef pans are few and far between, but they need to be mentioned.

    • Weight
While not as heavy as other metal/ceramic combinations, Copper Chef pans are still weighty and can put a strain on your wrist if you’re not careful with how you hold them. As you can expect, the weight increases when there’s food on the pans, so plan accordingly.
    • Fragile
While useful in the kitchen, copper is a relatively soft metal that can easily bump or wrap. Ceramic isn’t particularly resistant either and can crack if you accidentally drop your cookware. We won’t go as far as to say the cookware is fragile, but you should handle with care regardless. This includes not using metal utensils and washing by hand whenever possible.
    • Lids vs Body
While the pans themselves are heat resistant up to 700 degrees, the same can’t be said about the lids, so avoid using them inside the oven if possible. Most of the pans don’t come with a warning about this. We had to learn it the hard way.
    • Cost
Copper Chef pans are expensive, and while they match expectations, if you’re not careful with the pans and they get damaged, that’s a lot of money that will go to waste.

Gotham Steel vs Copper Chef: The Similarities

Because both types of cookware use a ceramic/metal combination, they have similar characteristics that are worth nothing:

    • Ceramic Cooking Surface

Because both brands use the same material for their cooking surface, both are non toxic and non-stick, making them a good choice for people trying to leave Teflon behind.

This also means that you should take similar precautions when it comes to using them, as they have similar requirements:

    • Use: When cooking with ceramic, you should never use metal utensils. Stick to silicone or wood whenever possible, as the metal will scratch the surface.

    • Cleaning: While both brands are advertised as being dishwasher safe, it’s recommended to hand-wash whenever possible, as dishwasher soap is often abrasive and ceramic should be washed with mild soap.

    • Resistance

Both brands are advertised as dishwasher and oven safe.

The dishwasher safe part is relatively true: Using the dishwasher won’t immediately ruin them, so you should feel free to do so if you’re in a rush, but we still encourage you to wash them by hand as often as possible.

The oven safe part is also true, but they have widely different tolerance points, so we’ll cover that under differences.

    What Makes Them Similar

Gotham Steel vs Copper Chef: The Differences

    • Heat Conductivity

Both materials are good at conducting heat, however, in this particular instance, copper is clearly superior.

Copper is regarded as the best material when it comes to conductivity, to the point where this material is also used to conduct electricity, something that can’t be said about titanium.

Because of this, copper reacts much faster to temperature changes, something that will show when you’re cooking.

That said, titanium is also a good heat conductor. It just isn’t as good as copper.

    • Sturdiness

Copper is a soft metal, even if it sounds like a contradiction. It can be easily bent and dented, which means that Copper Chef pans reflect outside damage faster than Gotham Steel.

Titanium is known for being one of the sturdiest cookware materials out there, making it the obvious choice for people who are looking-for cookware that can take a beating.

Note: This only applies to the outside of the pans. Since both brands use ceramic as a cooking surface, both are equally vulnerable on the inside.

The sturdiness also applies to the handles. While both Copper Chef and Gotham Steel have sturdy and solid feeling handles, Gotham Steel’s feel more reliable and safer to use.

    • Weight

As you can imagine after reading the previous point, copper and titanium have very different weights.

Copper is more lightweight and easier to handle, even when coupled with the ceramic interior. This means that, while not weightless, this brand is better suited for people who aren’t keen on using super heavy pans.

Titanium is much heavier than copper, and coupled with the ceramic interior, these pans are heavy and will put a strain on your wrist if you aren’t used to heavy cookware. That said, this will keep the pans from moving around when cooking, making them a good choice for people who enjoy a solid feel when cooking.

    • Heat Resistance

While both brands are oven safe, Copper Chef pans have a much higher resistance to heat than Gotham Steel.

Gotham Steel can withstand temperatures up to 500 degrees, while Copper Chef can go all the way up to 850 degrees, making the winner obvious, at least in this category.

Note: This temperature only applies to the body of the pans, not necessarily to the lids. Check those for individual max temperatures to avoid getting a nasty surprise.

Gotham Steel vs Copper Chef: Which is Better?

    Who’s The Winner?

While personal preference matters a lot. In this particular case we’re going to have to give the price to Chef Copper.

Don’t get us wrong, Gotham Steel pans are fantastic, but we find that, while the extra weight does add to the sturdiness, it doesn’t help with the cooking, both because it doesn’t react as fast to temperature changes as copper and because the pans are harder to handle.

Price wise, Copper Chef does tend to be more expensive, but we feel the price is worth it considering what you get in return.

The only case in which we’d recommend Gotham Steel over Copper Chef is when you’re in need of very sturdy cookware that doesn't require a lot of special care or considerations. Otherwise, we highly encourage you to get Copper Chef instead.

In any case, if you have the chance to see both brands with your own eyes, you should take it, as this will help you figure out which brand is better suited for you.
